Dues are due!

It's that time of year again! Once again we are offering regular memberships for a mere $45 ($65 for a household of two or more members at the same address). However, almost all of this is forwarded to the state and national Leagues, so we hope you will consider becoming a sustaining member for $75 ($95/household.) Reduced rate memberships are available for individuals who are unable to pay the full amount but who are interested in becoming active members of the League. Send inquiries to the membership chair. All members receive all membership benefits.

Please download our membership form ( Word / PDF ), or use the membership form from any newsletter, and send it together with your check to

LWV Los Alamos
P.O. Box 158
Los Alamos, NM 87544.
Thank you!

General Information

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

The League of Women Voters has two separate and distinct roles:

  • Voter Service and Citizen Education We present unbiased nonpartisan information about elections, the voting process, and issues.

  • Action/Advocacy We are nonpartisan but, after study, we use our positions to advocate for or against particular policies in the public interest.

Who's In Charge?, with contact information for federal, state and local elected officials as well as for Los Alamos County services and schools, is now available on line from the Voter Information page.

Join Us!

We welcome new members at any time of year. Dues are pro-rated for members joining in the middle of the fiscal year, which runs from May 1 to April 30. Please fill out a membership form ( Word / PDF ) and return it with your check made out to LWVLA. If you wish to make an additional tax-deductible contribution to our Education Fund, please make that check out to the LWV Ed Fund.

We offer Friends of the LWVLA the opportunity to receive our "friendly reminder" e-mails about upcoming activities and our electronic newsletter for a donation of $25. (Add $5 to receive a hard copy of the newsletter by regular mail.) Please download the contribution form ( PDF / HTML ) to send in with your check if you wish to become a Friend of the League, or include a note identifying the services you would like to receive.
